Microplastics and Nanoplastics
Lab261 manufactures additive-free microplastic and nanoplastic reference particles for environmental fate, photodegradation, weathering, and human exposure research. Polymer systems include polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Nylon (polyamide), polycarbonate (PC), and polyurethane (PU) — supplied as 100% pure polymer with no surfactants, stabilizers, or processing additives, required for studies that must isolate polymer-specific effects from additive chemistry. Spherical, irregular, and fragmented morphologies are available; multi-modal distributions with defined peaks support studies that need to mimic real-world environmental microplastics rather than idealized references. Cited in published UV-LED photodegradation research (Rathnayake et al. 2026) and ICP-TOFMS sizing (Fazzolari et al. 2025). Custom polymer combinations, sizes, and morphologies developed on request.
